AOL unplugged, not in a good way

leave a comment »

AOL closed down its AOL Hometown web-hosting service effective October 31, and many aol-logousers are very unhappy with that. They’re complaining about a lack of notice and an inability to save or transfer their websites, issues that are compounded by the relative lack of web savvy common to these customers. It does seems as though arrangements could have been made to transfer these blogs to WordPress, Blogger or another service instead of just pulling the plug.
