Free MMO fun from Slurpee
Free to play MMO games are gaining popularity here in the States, but companies are still trying to work out the best way for players to make micropayments. Having customers tack them on to their mobile phone bills is one way, if you don’t mind the carriers taking nearly half. Many gamers are too young to have credit cards. So prepaid cards look like the most promising way to go – especially since the sales racks also serve as opportunities to promote this growing form of entertainment.
It therefore makes lots of sense that 7-Eleven Inc. and Nexon America are partnering on the “Where You Play for Free” campaign. Each of nearly 6,000 7-Elevens will be selling Slurpees in four different designs of cup featuring images from Nexon’s games MapleStory (pictured), Mabinogi, Combat Arms and Sugar Rush. They also come with codes that can be redeemed for in-game premium items. More info at this dedicated website.
