twitter-birdSome press outlets were very impressed with Good.ly, which raises money for charity through shopping links on Twitter. I’m not convinced, but good luck to them.

Users tweet their recommendation for a book, DVD or whatever. When someone purchases that item by clicking through the tweet, the retailer gives Good.ly an unspecified referral fee from which the service gives 55% to specific charities.

Good.ly is an offshoot of affinity marketing firm Skimlinks, which is based in Shoreditch, an area of north London being gentrified by tech companies.
